Responsum exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that any compatible AI agent can connect to as a custom connector. Once linked, your AI assistant can securely access Responsum’s tools and data on your behalf. Authentication is handled through OAuth, so you never share your password with the AI client, you sign in directly with Responsum and approve the permissions you want to grant.
This guide walks you through linking the Responsum connector in Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini.
Before you start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- The Responsum MCP server URL: keep this handy for later: https://mcp.responsum.app/mcp
- A Responsum account: Needs permission to the sub-modules you want the AI agent to be able to access (Permission of this user will be applied for the MCP). We advise the use and creation of a specific user for making this connection. This can be done via user management.
- A supported AI plan: Custom connectors may require a paid tier (for example Pro, Team or Enterprise) depending on the AI platform. If you don’t see the option to add a custom connector, check your plan or ask your workspace administrator.
- An up-to-date AI client: Menu names and locations change between releases, so use the latest version of the app or web interface.

Connecting in Microsoft Copilot
Guidance from the AI supplier (The steps below are subject to change)
- Open Copilot studio and select Agents
- Select Create blank agent
- Give the agent a name and await it’s provisioning
- Navigate to the Tools tab and press Add a tool
- Select Add new MCP
- Provide a Server name (Ex. Responsum) a Description (30 characters or more) and the Responsum MCP Server URL
- Select OAuth 2.0 as the authentication method with Dynamic discovery
- Under Connection, select Create new connection and complete the OAuth flow with your Responsum credentials, approving the requested scopes.
- After authorization completes, the connector status displays as Connected and you can Add the MCP
- Test if the tool is available for the agent (It might ask to re-connect the MCP)
- If it functions as intended and the agent was fully provisioned, you can Publish the agent for use
Connecting in Google Gemini
Gemini does currently not yet natively support support for custom MCP servers. Our MCP cannot be used with Gemini.
